Bloody, but happy

You can see the blood on Chiloe's face from getting these big Canada's. He really made me proud with some of the retrieves on these. One sailed across the field......and the fields up here are huge....Chiloe was busy retrieving another and did not see it go down. I handled him out to it and it was a long way back to me carrying a 15 pound goose. The other could arguably be the best retrieve any dog of mine has ever done. We dropped four geese, 2 of which were stone dead in the decoys and the other 2 were hauling ass out of the dekes and away from us. I sent Chiloe and he damn near ran over a dead one and went for a cripple. He tackled it and came up with it. He then looked around and saw the other runner. He drops the one which is now in really bad shape, thanks to the tackle, and chases down the other which is half way across the field. I was so proud I could have cried. The guys really were impressed as well. Terry asked how I trained him to do that in which I replied I have in fact tried to train him not to do that very thing for 3 years! While he did EXACTLY what was the right thing to do in a hunting situation that would have gotten him disqualified at a hunt test for switching. What the hell do they know???   LOL
