A day for my boy
Chiloe and I needed a break from Chase so we went goose hunting. A great day for both of us as I got to watch my boy in action and he found out he is still my dog. I love you partner. A week ago I almost killed this dog as he chased a crippled goose down the river and out of sight. I tried to stop him but he blew me off and kept going. I had to run back to the house and get my boat and went up and down the river looking for him. I brought my spotlight as I had about a half hour before dark. As it got very dark I finally found the goose still alive but weak. That was a glimmer of hope as it now cut my search area in half. I went back towards where this disaster started and half way there saw two eyes glaring in the spotlight. As he got in the boat he hung his head because he thought he was in trouble. I gave him a big hug to assure him I loved him. He was so waterlogged and iced up there is no doubt he would have never made it through the night if I had not found him. As you can see it didn't slow him down one bit. That scary episode will stay with me until the day I die.
