Not a bad season for Chiloe. When I yanked him out of a four year retirement I had no idea what would go down. At first, I thought, "get me two or three master passes". After passing those I thought , "get me a Master title". After obtaining his Master title the picture got rather large as if he passed the next six Masters he would qualify for the Master National and Backwater Hall of Fame. I have to admit some days were better than others but overall he was comfortably passing all test. I was most proud of his Ninth Master.......he gobbled it up.....not many did. I believe out of 55 dogs 14 were left standing.....my man. The last test will stay with me forever. Chiloe managed to bust off a nail up high a day before the test. I left the nail on and in the first series (which he ate up) he was limping . I thought the Judge was coming up to pat me on the back for a nice job but instead told me he might have to disqualify us for running hurt. A lady vet who I run against and talk to alot got with me and the judge and said I needed to yank it off and give him a pain killer and he would be able to run. Without Caterine Darr there with that advice I have no doubt we would have been done. I really don't care to go into the struggle of getting that nail off.....it is somethingI have to live with but I will say Chiloe put his heart in my hands and most of this will stay between him and I until we die. He was under the weather a bit from the pain but we did rather well considering. If you read the ribbon you can see the Master National Qualified. I never dreamed this Partner but here we are. What a dog. You will always be my dog!!
